DESCRIPTION
Interested in learning how to leverage innovative and evidence-based teaching strategies grounded in the arts? Join us for a concise half-day introduction to Visual Thinking Strategies (VTS) -- including demonstrations of VTS facilitated by expert faculty and smaller group VTS practice sessions -- and resources to assist you in developing VTS facilitation skills to apply in your clinical care and/or teaching. WHO SHOULD ATTEND
This activity is intended for physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, physician assistants, psychologists, and social workers.

OBJECTIVES
After attending this activity, the participant will demonstrate the ability to:
 Articulate how Visual Thinking Strategies is relevant to healthcare and health professions education
 Describe the basic components of Visual Thinking Strategies, including the three open-ended questions
 Apply the basic components of Visual Thinking Strategies in practice sessions
 Recognize additional resources that are available to develop Visual Thinking Strategies facilitation skills

ACCREDITATION STATEMENT
The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

CREDIT DESIGNATION STATEMENT
The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 4.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

PAs may claim a maximum of 6.0 Category 1 credits for completing this activity. NCCPA accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by ACCME or a recognized state medical society.

The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine is authorized by the Maryland State Board of Examiners of Psychologists as a provider of continuing education. The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine maintains responsibility for this program. A certificate for 4.0 CEUs will be awarded upon completion of this live program.

The Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners certifies that this program meets the criteria for 4 credit hours of Category 1 or 1
0.4 CEUs of continuing education for social workers licensed in Maryland. The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine is an approved sponsor of the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners for continuing education credits for licensed social workers in Maryland.
